Make lip balm at home: All natural and tinted! To make lip balm, all you need are some basic ingredients, some clean containers, and lots of love.
The love is important.
On to the recipe. Let’s make lip balm, y’all:

All natural tinted lip balm

Ingredients:
2 Tbs coconut oil (Buy quality coconut products here)
2 Tbs jojoba oil (avocado, olive, or other similar oils would also work)
2 tsp grated cocoa butter (Buy cocoa butter here)
1 Tbs grated beeswax (Like this)
1 tsp vitamin E
1/2 tsp essential oils* (optional, but so fun!)
1 – 2 tsp of Alkanet Root powder or Hibiscus powder (Like this)
Of course you can leave out the herbal powder if you don’t want a tinted lip balm.
*I love to use oils like grapefruit or sweet orange. Other popular oils are peppermint, lavendar, or vanilla. Experiment and have fun.
Directions:
1. In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt coconut oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax. Stir until just melted and then remove from heat.
2. Stir in vitamin E, essential oils, and herbal powder. Mix until completely incorporated.
3. Moving fairly quickly (this stuff will start to solidify fast), pour mixture into prepared containers and let cool until hard. (You can always put them in the fridge if you are in a hurry.)
Yield: This recipe will fill about 4 – 6 half-ounce containers.
Note: As soon as you make lip balm, quickly clean off any mixing bowls or pots before this stuff gets too waxy. Or go buy a few cheap containers, measuring cups, and grater that you use just for this type of thing.  :)
