Eclos Skincare: Plant Stem Cells Try-Me-Pack "First Impressions" and Giveaway!!!
Have you seen this new natural skincare line called e'clos from Freeman Beauty? I have always had great luck with Freeman products. So, I am excited about this new line!Eclos is an "apple stem cell"/ plant-based skincare line. Research shows that swiss apple extracts can stimulate skin stem cells to help skin behave like "younger skin". According to Eclos, their special blend of apple extracts plus antioxidants (Eclos calls it "PhytoPlex24") can help to minimize fine lines and make your skin look refreshed and more rested. This sure sounds promising!
So what does this mean for us? Eclos gives the consumer an affordable option for apple stem cell products! Apple Stem Cell skincare seems to be the newest rage in skincare lately. Now it is available at your local drugstore or Ulta!
First Impressions and a Giveaway! A Promo Code too!!!
Eclos recently sent me a "try me" skincare pack of the new Eclos line. I am going to give you my "first impressions" of this line as well as offer you readers a chance to win a "try me" pack! Why "First Impressions" instead of full blown product reviews? Well, first of all Eclos gave me a deadline for the giveaway winner's info. So, I wanted to get this giveaway posted ASAP for ya'll! Typically, I test products for as long as possible (4 or more weeks) before publishing a full review. Also, since this is a "try me" pack with deluxe sample sizes, the sizes of the products do not allow for 4 weeks of testing. With all that said, I tested out these items for a couple weeks and can certainly give you some first impressions!

My Skin Background: My Skin In-a-Nutshell
My skin is in the "combo-normal" category. In the warmer months, I lean more towards normal or normal-oily, in the winter my skin seems to be normal-dry. I really only get slight oil in my t-zone area. Generally, I break out rarely. However, I do get occasional breakouts on my chin, forhead, or nose area. I have no major wrinkles yet; but, I do have some fine lines cropping up. Being in my late 30's, I want to do everything possible to minimize fine lines and prevent future wrinkles! My other skincare concerns: skin sensitivity and dark under eye circles.
The Eclos Line of Products:
As I mentioned, I sampled the "Try Me!" Pack. This pack consisits of the entire range of Eclos products packaged in TSA friendly containers (deluxe sample size).
This "Try Me!" Kit contains 6 sample sized products and one headband. The retail value is over $40.00; yet, the price is $19.99! A great deal! The samples are large enough for a few uses (enough for a "first impression").
The Kit Contains:
- Eclos Facial Cleanser Skin Prep
- Eclos Instant Radiance Facial Scrub
- Eclos Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream
- Eclos Cellular Activator Face Serum
- Eclos Restorative Eye Cream
- Eclos Skin Renewal Clay Mask
Facial Cleanser Skin Prep: (full sized cost: $14.99)
This is a thin and clear gel-type facial cleanser. It has a fresh herbal smell and works up a small amount of lather. I love the refreshing feel of this product. Generally I prefer products that are unscented. However, I do like the scent of this product (and the scent does not seem to irritate my sensitive skin). I believe that this scent is not an "added scent" but the natural scent of the botanicals used in this product? It cleanses gently and removes dirt and oil without overstripping my skin. It rinses fairly clean and leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling dry or tight. I really like this cleanser and would actually consider purchasing a full sized!
Instant Radiance Facial Scrub: (full sized cost: $12.99)
Wow! This is some strong scrub!!! It is quite gritty and actually feels like it heats up slightly when you use it. The effect is pretty darn cool. This is not a scrub for the weak-at-heart. It seems particularly strong and abrasive. Directions say to use it every/other day. I do not think I could use this more than 1-2x per week max. This scrub is used on freshly cleansed skin. Just gently massage in circular motions and then rinse off. It leaves bit of moisture behind after you rinse. My skin feels very smooth after using this!
Moisture Therapy Regenerative Cream: (full size cost: $24.99)
This is a buttery feeling moisturizing cream. The cream is quite thick and it is super hydrating. It sinks in pretty well and does not leave you feeling greasy. It has almost a "tightening" effect when you put it on. It has an immediate effect that makes my skin feel somewhat lifted and firm. It has a pretty strong rosemary/herbal scent. Actually, when I put this on my husband always tells me it smells good. In fact, I think this entire skincare line would appeal to both men and women.
Cellular Activator Facial Serum: (full size cost: $24.99)
This affordably priced facial serum packs great ingredients like Green Tea, Antioxidants, Comfrey, Gotu Kola, and Tumeric. It works well to smooth out fine lines and boost hydration. Only time will tell if this product has an anti-aging impact. One pump's worth seems to dispense just the right amount. I find this product to feel a bit sticky and leaves my skin with a bit of a tacky feel. It has an immediate "firming/tightening" sensation. I have been using this in the mornings and evenings after cleansing my skin (and before moisturizer).
Skin Renewal Clay Mask: (full sized cost: $12.00)
This mask is pretty intense! It has a very "invigorating" feeling going on. It feels slightly "cooling" and that feeling dissipates as the mask hardens. The mask is a clay based mask with Apple Stem Cells, Kaolin clay, Green Tea, and Rosemary. It packs a strong rosemary scent like the other Eclos products. It is thinner than most clay based masks I have tried. You only need a very thin layer. It dries fast and hardens as it dries. I only leave this mask on for about 5 minutes since it dries so quickly. I find that after rinsing/removing with tepid water and a wash cloth, I see a temporary increase in skin redness (and some very slight irritation) and my skin feels "hot". I am not sure what ingredient in this product irritates me? This mask is really too strong for me. However, the redness does go away (within about 30 minutes). Honestly, I only used this mask one time since it did seem to irritate my skin. So, if you have sensitive skin, proceed with this mask with caution! Possibly do a test patch first.
Restorative Eye Cream: (full sized cost: $24.99):
This is a lightweight eye cream with Eclos's Apple Stem Cells blend and antioxidants. It also contains extracts of comfrey and cucumber. Personally, this eye cream was a miss for me. I had trouble with the eye cream making my eyes water after application. So, I had to stop using it. My eyes are extremely sensitive. So, this might not happen to you. However, if you have sensitive eyes, you might want to test this product cautiously.
The Verdict:
Overall, I think that this is an exciting new brand! I found some new hits (and a few misses). I would certainly consider purchasing full sizes of the Cleanser, Scrub, and Cream! I can't recommend these products without testing them further; but, with that said, my first impressions are fairly positive.
After using for a couple weeks, my skin seems a bit more even toned and my very mild breakouts and clogged pores seem to have gone away. My skin feels smooth and hydrated and it just looks a bit "brighter" in general. Just keep in mind that this is a first-impressions post and not a full review! It really takes much longer to determine if skincare is working for you. In fact, did you know that the placebo effect usually dissipates after 2 weeks? What first impressions do tell me is that I like enough of these products to explore the line further!
I think that this line is best suited for anyone with normal or normal-oily skin non-sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin or product fragrances bother you, the botainicals in some of these products may irritate your skin. The eye cream seemed to irritate my sensitive eyes and make them water. Also, if you are sensitive you might want to avoid the mask and possibly the scrub. However, I have sensitive skin and I really liked the scrub. So, it just depends!
The great news is that these products are available in this value priced "Try Me!" kit. So, you can purchase the whole line for a low price and try out for yourself!
