Ditch your turtlenecks!

Ditch your turtlenecks! Reveal a sexy, youthful neck

We spend tons of time and energy to keep the skin on our faces taut, firm and glowing. But in the process, we might be neglecting an equally important region of skin that is just as sensitive and susceptible to aging, sun damage and more – our necks.
We all dread the infamous “turkey neck.” Necks can show signs of aging just as much as our eyes, mouths and foreheads, but taking care of them is not always as simple as extending your face products downward. Here are some tips for solving your pet peeves so you can ditch the turtlenecks and rock some v-necks.
Crepey, loose skin?
You know how the skin on your face loses collagen and elasticity over time, making it a little loose and saggy? The same thing happens to the skin in your neck. However, your neck may be worse off because you might have neglected it all these years when applying anti-aging products and sunscreen to your face. Fortunately, it’s not too late to start pampering your neck. You can smooth wrinkles and tighten your skin with creams that have retinol or peptides to boost collagen production to smooth out wrinkles. Look for a cream specially formulated for your neck and decollete.
Ditch your turtle neck! (And then your turtlenecks)
Another common complaint women have about their necks are rolls, commonly referred to as “tree-ring lines” or “turtle neck.” Even if you are not the least bit overweight, the appearance of rolls can develop on your neck. Many dermatologists would recommend Botox or another type of injection to relax the muscles beneath the skin to soften lines. However, you might also want to try a firming cream with hyaluronic acid, retinol or other collagen-enhancing ingredients that hydrate the skin to plump these lines.
Gobble up that turkey wattle
Again, you don’t have to have a turkey waddle to have turkey wattle. This dangly piece of skin that many women develop under their chins is genetic, and no amount of creams, lotions or exercises can necessarily prevent it or fix it.
One option is liposuction or a neck lift, but these procedures can be costly and you will experience some bruising or swelling afterward. If you’d rather now go under the knife, consider the other traits, like your dazzling smile, glowing skin or bright eyes, that people are likely to notice before your neck.
