4 Anti-Aging Herbs For Longevity – Add One Of These Items Into Your Daily Life

There are many facets to anti-aging. While we like to look good on the outside and this is often the first impression that someone is “aging well”, the real point of taking things like anti-aging herbs is to help keep everything running smoothly on the inside. Here are 6 herbs that can keep your insides tickety-boo.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a much revered herb or spice in Indian Ayurvedic medicine and has been used for thousands of years for all sorts of ailments. It is thought to be effective for Osteoarthritis or painful joints as a result of aging or use. Other uses claim it can help with other aches and pains throughout the body as it is a natural painkiller and cox-2 inhibitor.

Fresh Turmeric Root
A daily dose of 2 grams of Curcuma domestica extract (the active ingredient in the spice) was found to provide pain relief that was equivalent to ibuprofen for the relief of pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee according to the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Some claims even suggest that Alzheimer disease can be helped by taking Turmeric. Although it should be pointed out that this claim has not been clinically proved. Research is gathering pace however on this powerful spice.
Turmeric can be taken in capsule form or used in cooking. When you cook, it can be used fresh – grate a bit of turmeric into a curry or some other Indian inspired dish – or in dried powder form. I imagine the fresh variety would be better for you but the powder form is more practical as you can keep it for longer.
Turmeric also gives the foods you cook a deep yellow color and is often used in place of saffron as a cheaper alternative to coloring foods. Try to add it to one of two of your weekly meals.

Bilberry

Is it a herb or a fruit ? No matter what it’s accurate classification is, like all berry varieties the bilberry has anti-aging properties.
It has antioxidants known as anthocyanosides in the skin (or pigments of the skin). This ingredient, according to an article in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry can help in aging and neurological diseases, inflammation which is often the cause of aging related conditions and bacterial infections that are not too pleasant either.
Bilberries can be consumed fresh or are often made into condiments and jams (go easy on the sugar though). They can also be eat dried in cereals or taken in capsule form. There is no end to the way you can take these berries and you should strive to get more berries in your diet for the reasons explained above.

Echinacea

This is a plant found in North America that produces a very beautiful flower. There are several species of the plant that is a type of daisy. All parts of the plant and flower can be turned into a powder, oil or tincture and taken orally, topically or even diffused through the air (aromatherapy).
Echinacea gained it reputation as a general medicine in many North American Indian tribes. It is thought to boost the immune system that can ensure that age related diseases are counteracted effectively. It is also sometimes said to help boost the immune system so that people don’t get common ailments like the cold or flu. All these claims are made by natural or alternative health practitioners as most scientific research has not really been conclusive about the benefits of the herb.

Have A Cup Of Tea With Celery Seeds
People in western countries are probably more familiar with eating celery stalks than the seeds but in places like India the celery seeds is another ingredient used by Ayurvedic practitioners.
The claimed health benefits are that it prevents arthritis and gout (inflammatory conditions often associated with age).
Celery seeds are very easy to take. Buy them whole and place a teaspoon full of the seeds in a cup of boiling water. They will form a tea that you can drink. Whilst it’s not the most flavorsome drink it isn’t too bad. You could also add the seeds into a mix of other “good for you” ingredients like green tea to give the drink a few taste dimensions. If you can’t stomach the tea, then you can get the seeds in capsule form.
Try to add these herbs into your daily life and this may ensure that you don’t suffer from many age related conditions.
